Some years ago, I wrote a very short essay about signs of true repentance in those who have abused. Today, we had a conference about church care for women who have been abused. Repentance is such a huge deal! Where does one turn when the Church-as-Institution ghosts with charm and spiritual language, but the behaviors never change?
