I have felt for awhile “booked out” on books re sexual abuse, but the concept of this book intrigues me, both as a survivor and as one who comes alongside others who have been abused. Look forward to reading it.
“Booked out” is understandable. Personally–also speaking as a survivor–I was tired of feeling “poached” by various groups bent on one key aspect or approach (take your pick…), but often unable (or unwilling) to engage the different professional voices sitting around the table. The church actually has so many helpful skills and disciplines available, I felt it was time to sit them at the table and let them talk, for the benefit of counselor, pastor, spouse, and survivor. I think you will find the book a multivalent address on various aspects of the abuse problem. In fact, I welcome further discussion here.
